This winter Ron Burgundy and his colleagues will be back in action with Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, which is to be released 20th December 2013.
The first installment of Anchorman in 2004 is arguably one of the best comedy movies of recent time. With a budget of $26 million Anchorman attracted a huge cast line up as well as an amazing writing due in Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. McKay also directed the first installment and has also taken the reins of the second.
Anchorman is set in 1975 and is a movie which mocks the stereotypical 1970′s TV news shows, especially the action news format of show. The movie also touches on feminism in the order of Veronica Corningstone, who is a very ambitious news reporter. To begin with, Ron is more than happy to play along with the idea of having eye candy on the programme, that is until Veronica starts to push her career forward and takes a place right next to Ron… Co-anchoring!
Anchorman 2 Plot
Adam McKay, in an interview conducted in April 2012 said that Anchorman 2 was still a work in progress and that the story may include a custody battle as well as bowling! In May of that year, McKay stated that nothing was actually set.
The location seems to have changed though, Anchorman 2 will be based in New York instead of San Diego and it is based at the start of the cable News era of the 80′s.
